Telangana state all set
to announce its new industrial policy

is set to announce its new industrial policy under which scheduled castes
and scheduled tribe entrepreneurs would be specially encouraged, Telangana
state Information Technology and Panchayat Raj MinisterKT
Rama Rao said in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
The government plans to
develop an industrial corridor between Hyderabad and Mahbubnagar, in addition
to the one proposed between Hyderabad and Warangal, the minister said.
Replying to a question,
on behalf of the Telangana Chief Minister in the Legislative Assembly today,
the minister said the new industrial policy was approved at a state cabinet
meeting two days ago.
"We will announce
the policy in the Assembly in a day or two. It will be the best policy enabling
clearances in quick time. We will also get 2000 MW of power by next year,"
Rama Rao said, replying to a question raised by Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS)
members Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and others.
When asked if 24-hour
power supply would be ensured to industries, the minister said that it would be
supplied "as per availability". Entrepreneurs belonging to
scheduled castes and scheduled tribes would be encouraged to establish
industries in Telangana.
"We will not only
provide them necessary training but also pay margin money for raising loans and
setting up units," Rama Rao said, adding that women entrepreneurs would
also be encouraged in a big way.
The minister said plans are being drawn up to
open industrial parks in all districts of Telangana state. The government
is examining a proposal to set up a textile park in Warangal, he said.
